Hayley Kiyoko just won her very first Video Music Award and she gave one of the most heartfelt speeches of the night.
While walking the red carpet and doing interviews at the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards, Hayley learned of the big honor. Throughout the year, MTV shares a Push artist once a month and they all are nominated to win the Push artist award during the VMAs. She beat out top names like SZA, Noah Cyrus, and Khalid.
“This validates any queer woman of color that you can follow your dreams. And I love my fans! My fans gave this to us! We did it! 20GayTeen! 2018!,” she said.
Fans were really excited to see her win the big award and they weren’t afraid to share it on social media.
